This page describes work accomplished on the new TMRC layout during
the month of May 2014, as taken from the descriptions posted to
the club mailing list.
There's now a 3-way turnout in the paper mill area on the upper level.
It's code 55 rail.
Here's something new--we're participating in a car exchange with Texas Tech in Lubbock TX. They've sent us 3 of their cars and we've sent 3 of ours, to use in operating sessions for a while. Here are the Texas Tech cars in one of our trains (with a 25th anniversary car) in our most scenic location.
Here's a closeup of one of those cars, in F-Yard: very handsome (but rather old-fashioned--roofwalks haven't been allowed in interchange service since 1978).
New member Luis is building a control tower and yard office for F-Yard.
This is the building that Luis is using as inspiration. It's at the Eagle Mills Yard
in Negaunee, Michigan, shown on this website done by Dale Berry. The picture is from 2003: it's possible that the building no longer exists.
