April '12
This page describes work accomplished on the new TMRC layout during the month of April 2012, as taken from the descriptions posted to the club mailing list.
April 4

The next phase of Level 2 construction required the production of sawdust, which took place out in the hallway in order to make cleanup easier. This is "experienced" plywood.
After a multi-year lapse, Quentin (supervised by Mike) played with his lighting control box. The objective is to use it for room lighing.
It produces an interesting waveform.
This is the effect of a "cool white" LED rope light over Berkmannville.
The cardboard mockup now sits on plywood.
Mike and Quentin worked on the spotlights. They're wired through this box.
New member Rebecca worked on scenery in Berkmannville. She seems to have a good eye for it. Mike's abilities as supervisor were called on yet again.

April 7

Andy's bridge over F-yard made some Progress.
Second view of the same.
John P cut road bed for the paper mill area on the 2nd level.

April 18

David Lambeth sent a package from the "West Coast Shops".
He painted the Preiser figures that John P purchased several years ago, and also made a prototype platform canopy with LED lighting underneath.
Closeup of some of the figures.
Rebecca did some more scenery.
Both sides of the track.

April 25

Recent operation of passenger equipment has demonstrated that Chez Kotok is located too close to the tracks. Rebecca and John M moved it. (Wait for what Mike is doing in the background.)
John P installed a new lighting fixture to illuminate Berkmannville under the Second Level deck. It consists of 4 1 Watt LEDs on a metal bar.
The picture really doesn't do justice to the brightness of these lamps.
Here's a view with all other lights off.
This picture shows the contrast between the lighted and unlighted areas. We have another 46 LEDs that we can install, but we may choose to keep the lighting dimmer over areas we'd prefer not to emphasize.
Mike's project for the evening was to install a fourth block card inside the helix (it's the one at the lower left).
