John P has made a new control box for the Berkmannville lights (See January 2013 report etc). It has a 3-position switch (obained from the junk
box at MITERS next door) which is labeled "ON", "LAYOUT" and "OFF". In the LAYOUT setting, the lights come on with layout power. This is done by switching the AC input to the power supply that feeds the lights using a solid-state
relay.

An apparent problem occured where one of the switch cards wasn't getting an address match pulse, and John P had to take the oscilloscope out on location, along with the circut diagram--yes, we have documentation! And then (of course) the problem proved to be elsewhere, in the cable.
