January '13
This page describes work accomplished on the new TMRC layout during the month of January 2013, as taken from the descriptions posted to the club mailing list.
January 2

We have purchased a new power supply especially for under-layout lighting. With 8 Amps output capacity! (A single string of 8 LEDs draws 320mA.)
Berkmannville lit with the new power supply. Note that it looks entirely different from the previous views.
Block Card 20 is now more neatly wired. An overload on the +15V circuit breaker serving the helix area suggested that it was time for a new cable to the breaker panel. This was accordingly done, with matching cables for the 8V and 18V supplies also.
New electrical connectors for upper level track power!

January 12

100 each of two sizes of T-nuts for construction of the upper levels. Using these allows us to join sections of plywood with bolts from below.
At long last, Section 14 of the helix is pretty much done! With the servos in place to operate turnouts, a microcontroller to drive them, 5 relays, track power and d.c. power supplies brought in through connectors, and rails attached to adjacent sections.
This train came up from Staging under its own power!
Bill Onorato and John P reworked the plywood under part of the paper mill area, and added a new support beam, using some of the new hardware.

January 16

This is what Abe-use looks like.

Found in the CokeR machine. If anyone confesses to this they won't get the money back even if they ask.

Switch 196 is now operational, with frog power controlled via a microswitch.
A lengthy search for a short circuit in track power ended here. Soldering a wire to a rail just where another wire passes underneath apparently leads to unsatisfactory outcomes.

January 30

Andy prepared to install some human figures on the platform at Killianport. These were painted at the West Coast Shops and have been waiting for a home for many months.
Andy also (mostly) finished his station at Killianport, having now obtained the necessary corbels.
Here is the painted stairway and overpass.
John P installed the first rail of the first movable frog diamond on the Helix Section 14.
Pico people populate the platform.
Some of them taking each other's pictures--not the best location, maybe? But she appears to be walking on air.
