This page describes work accomplished on the new TMRC layout during
the month of August 2012, as taken from the descriptions posted to
the club mailing list.
John M continues to work on a new crossing signal for the Activities Midway. He's making it
about 50% of the size of the old one, so here measurements are being made.
Parts of the new unit on the bench.
The new unit's lamps assembled, now waiting for backgrounds and sunshades.
John P worked on wiring for the helix. This cable has been unfinished for about 7 years!
New purchases. The micro switches may be used in conjunction with the servos seen in the July 18 report,
and the aluminum channel sections are for more lighting strips as seen on April 25 and May 9.
John M has made up new publicity brochures for the club, and here he's placing them into the
holder which he installed a few weeks ago.
The brochures--they're glossy!
John P installed new brighter LCD units in most of the cabs--keeping the dimmer green display
in one cab for sentimental reasons.
He also placed LEDs on two of the metal bars featured here last week. We have new switching
current regulators which can drive 8 LEDs in series, so 2 bars are used together.
The third bar attached to this board is the one shown on April 25 and May 9.
